|
|
People think, “I am the only one with my fingerprint. No one can steal that.” If you use biometrics, that is not true. When you scan in your fingerprint, it becomes a digital file that can be copied, stolen, emailed, posted on a website, etc. Think of it like this, let’s say you had a photograph of yourself and you scanned it in and saved it on your PC. Next, a hacker gets in to your system and steals your photo. Then, that hacker posts copies of the photo all over the Internet. Even though you retain the original photograph, do you think that you are still the only one with that photo? Using biometrics is like having a pin number that you are never allowed to change, even when someone steals it.
